How to Overcome 'The Dip' in Your Content Creation Journey
Strategies for Pushing Through the Hardest Moments and Building Lasting Success

Hi Millies!
Welcome Back!
What a whirlwind of a week it’s been—the devastating California fires, a looming TikTok ban… it feels like the world is shifting beneath our feet. Now more than ever, the power of community is so important. Thank you for being here with me.
”The Dip”
This week, during a strategy session with a client just starting her content journey, we explored a concept I believe is essential for anyone creating: “The Dip.”
Starting any new venture feels exhilarating at first—likes, shares, and support pour in, and it seems like the universe is cheering you on. But then, inevitably, you hit The Dip.
As Seth Godin explains:
“First, there is rapid progress because everything is new and interesting. Then it peaks, and you start seeing diminishing returns…
After a while, you hit The Dip, and your primary feelings are: ‘This is stupid and pointless. Nobody cares. I’m wasting my time.’
But one of the most important things you can learn is how to get through The Dip without giving up. Once you cross it, things start looking up again, and you achieve sustained progress.”
What to Do When You’re in The Dip
Revisit Your ‘Why’: Why did you start? Let that be your anchor.
Commit to the Process: Keep showing up, even when it’s hard.
Create Systems: Routines and tools help keep momentum alive.
Redefine Success: Celebrate small wins and focus on progress, not perfection.
When you push through The Dip, you emerge stronger, more resilient, and more committed than ever.
If you’re feeling stuck in The Dip
My one-on-one strategy sessions are here to help you nagivate. These sessions are designed to be transformational. Together, we’ll define your goals, create a personalized plan, and tackle any obstacles holding you back.

This Accountability Tip Will Change Your Life
Mel Robbins developed her simple yet wildly impactful “5, 4, 3, 2, 1 rule”.
It helps people overcome procrastination, fear and hesitation.
How To Use the “5-4-3-2-1 Rule”
The moment your alarm goes off in the morning, say in your head “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” and get up immediately.
Do NOT pick up your phone. The moment you pick up your phone, you start to give your attention, your time and your energy to the world and lose that motivation to work on your dreams.
Spend 10 minutes doing something for YOU: Read, journal, go outside and get some sunshine on your face.
This little ritual builds momentum and trains your brain to take action, no matter how daunting the task.
If you haven’t already, give the episode a listen—it’s packed with actionable insights to build your dream life in 2025 and beyond.
How to Help with the California Fires
Watching the devastating impact of the fires unfold on social media has been heart-wrenching. But here’s how we can help:
Donate $15 to Baby2Baby to receive this adorable sea otter mother and baby needlepoint chart by Frances Abel Studio. (Proceeds support families in need) #chartsforcharity
Declutter with Purpose: Have some clothes lying around? Seconds Market will match you with someone in need
Support Pet Owners: My friends at DogDrop are collecting pet supplies and offering free daycare services for affected families.
Meta stops fact-checking content: a win for “free speech” but a loss for an inviting safe online environment for so many people
Notion launches “Notion Faces”: My LinkedIn feed was flooded with these fun personalized drawings - and they even got Snoop Dogg to help launch the campaign.
TikTok ban update: The Supreme Court is currently meeting to decide if they will uphold the law to ban TikTok on January 19th. All signs are currently point to the law being upheld 🫠
This Reel hit me hard this week: “Climate change will manifest as disasters we watch through our phones—until we’re the ones filming.” Let’s hope that changes.

For a laugh…
I have to share this fun, full-circle moment! Sometimes, when you’re creating content, it feels like shouting into the void—you never really know who’s watching or how it’s resonating. One of the reasons I’m so passionate about building IRL community this year is because I’ve spent the past two years focused on growing online. While the digital space is incredible, it can be hard to see the tangible impact of your work.
But this week, that all changed.

Over the summer, I shared a TikTok about LoveShack Fancy pulling a pricing switcheroo on me. That video went viral—1.1 MILLION views!
This week, my friend Colleen tagged me in this video saying, “He means YOU!” Sure enough, he was. When I watched, I was in disbelief and couldn’t stop laughing.
The lesson? Keep creating. you never know who might still be thinking about you or your content six months down the line 🤪

See you next week! Let’s get after it a million percent 🙂
xoxo,
Elizabeth
